Publish writing: Students can customize their character to tell a story. They can change the background to match the setting and even add their name with the pen tool. Students can record themselves telling the story or type the words. Reading the story is a great way for students to practice fluency and check for errors in writing. They take it very seriously!
Tell a character's point of view: Have students create a scene using the customization tools and have the avatar speak as the character to show point of view. You can give them a prompt, or have them summarize as that character.
Retell: Have students summarize a story they've read in 30 seconds.
Appsmash: Create a background in another app and have your avatar explain a story, concept, or describe something from a story.

Fluency Check-in: Have students record 30 seconds of a book or passage and save to your teacher account. Review their reading after class or in a conference with them by going to your account and finding their recording.
Publish: Record students reading their writing with the app (short pieces). Copy the URL and create a QR code to post on the piece of writing. During a gallery walk or Open House, readers can scan the QR code to hear the author read their writing. (You can print these on labels to attach later)
Review/Retell: Record students giving a review of a book or retelling it. If students give a review, use the URL to create QR codes that you can post or attach to the books. Students can scan and listen to reviews while shopping for books.
Reflect: Students can record their thinking, reflections, or questions about a text, which will be saved to the teacher's account.
Messages: Send home a voice message, directions for an assignment, or other verbal communication using the URL. For kinders who can't read, record your directions for a worksheet or task at a center, make a QR code with the URL, and post/share with students so they can listen as necessary.
